"Different Avenues at Egypt" Project is a collaborative effort between Different Avenues Inc and Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington Inc (PPMW). The goal of the collaboration is to increase access to medical services for marginalized populations.
Different Avenues has helped to improve the cultural competency of the staff at PPMW's Ophelia Egypt Clinic on Benning Rd NE with trainings on young men who have sex with men, transgenders, and people in the sex industry.
As part of this goal, PPMW & Different Avenues are launching an innovative internet outreach project. The goal of this intervention is "to utilize the Internet to increase the number of young men who have sex with men of color and young transgender women of color accessing HIV/STI support, education and referrals."
