| Patricia Novinski, MSW Co-Director, Case Management & HR Our case manager is a retired social worker who has relocated to the nation's capital. Pat's previous work in education, corrections, and mental health serves her well in outreach to youth and young adults in the DC metropolitan area, who often feel underserved, alienated and stigmatized by formal institutions. Darby Hickey Co-Director, Programs & Fundraising Darby has been involved with the D.C. transgender community since moving to the District in 2001. Bringing a background of community organizing on numerous issues, Darby joined Different Avenues in January 2004. Erica Smith Co-Director, Center Services & Finances Erika has worked in outreach with other DC organizations, and is intimately familiar with the populations Different Avenues serves. She speaks regularly at conferences, and is a diva of the ball scene. Donna Douglas Deputy Program Coordinator Also a student, and a mother, Donna brings extensive knowledge and experience to Different Avenues, helping with the Streets to the Houses Program. Her acumen and writing skills have been praised in response to the creation of the "Dancers Are Special" Booklet used in outreach to venues. Skytrinia Berkeley Peer Educator An emerging voice in the national advocacy realm for the rights of dancers and other sex workers, Sky is a great addition to the team. Her work on the Streets to Houses project materials has been praised. Terra Smith Internet Oureach Peer Educator Terra is an advocate for transgender and other LGB youth issues. She has worked on LGBT youth and HIV issues since high school and brings her enthusiasm to the project. Will Graham Internet Outreach Peer Educator Our newest team member, Will has a background in education and experience with HIV outreach in several settings. He's a great addition to the agency. |
